Campaigners in Cobham who were hoping to see the speed limit reduced on an infamous road were disappointed to hear it was only reduced by 10mph at the Surrey Council Local Committee Meeting for Elmbridge held on December 8.
A majority vote by councillors saw the national speed limit be reduced to 50mph instead of the requested 30mph on Byfleet Road and the new speed limit will be imposed from the traffic lights at the junction with Seven Hills Road.

The future of West End Post Office is in the balance as the couple who have run it for more than 20 years are retiring.

The sub post office, in High Street, is to close from Saturday, September 20 due to the retirement of postmaster Michael O'Donovan and his wife Sue.
